> TrailScout is a mobile app (iOS and Android) for hiking, trekking, trail running, off-road driving and camping, built for India's Sahyadris, Western Ghats and Himalaya. It combines trail discovery, offline maps, group outings with a live group map, and safety tools that keep working without mobile signal.

## What TrailScout does

- **Discover trails**: search trails, spots, activities and people; trail detail pages with stats, reviews and a 3D terrain flyover; crowd-sourced condition reports (dry, muddy, foggy, crowded, closed); draw and share your own route.
- **Offline maps**: a trail's map downloads to your phone when you save it, so navigation and recording work without signal.
- **Activities**: hike & trek, trail run, off-road (4x4 and dirt bike), and camp. Routes, stats and pace estimates adjust to the activity.
- **Off-road**: track grades from smooth gravel to rocky climbs, vehicle fit (SUV, 4x4, dirt bike), live reports on water crossings, washouts and closures, and convoy mode.
- **Group outings**: the host opens a lobby with a QR code and short code (e.g. TRK-4827); friends scan to join; recording starts on every phone at once; a live group map shows the leader and the person at the back; a regroup ping asks everyone to wait; "End for everyone" shows who isn't back yet.
- **Safety**: one-tap SOS sends an SMS with your location to emergency contacts and a Bluetooth broadcast to nearby phones, repeating every 2 minutes until you tap "I'm safe"; Bluetooth mesh relays group location with no network; automatic check-in after 45 minutes without moving; share live location with someone at home.
- **After the outing**: activity summary with elevation chart and photos, feed posts, leaderboards (distance, elevation, outings), club challenges and streaks, personal records, and a Peak Passport with a dated stamp for every summit.
- **Guides & events**: book verified local guides by the day and pay after the trek; join open events such as group trail runs and off-road days.
